Over the summer I went through one of the greatest trials in my life. I experience a very sad time in my life and found that the only thing I could do is pray, and ask others to pray, and turn to the words of God for help. I struggled and hurt inside and continued to seek God. I always tried to do what was right, and when I had reached the place that God needed my to be, he lifted me up. Things are so much better now than they were before my trial and I can only bless God for this, he is the one who made it all happen. The really sad thing about breaking through my trial is that, as I find myself further and further away from the trial, I seem to forget how much God did for me. I now long for the closeness to God that I felt through the struggles and desire the closeness that we had without the pain.

The one great help through all of my troubles was and still is Christian Music, groups like Third Day, Reliant K, and Audio Adrenalin and artists like Toby Mac, and Natalie Grant seem to speak directly to me, helping to lift me out of my funk.

"and you said I know that this will hurt, but if I don't break your heart, then things will just get worse, If the burden seems too much to bear, Remember, the end will justify the pain it took to get us there."

Reliant K

Tim

(Eugene Proctor)

The Wandering is Over

I Posted this earlier today on Zoe's Blog:

OK, so I haven't posted yet on Zoe's blog. Does this make me a bad dad? Does it mean that I haven't cared enough to post up to this point? I personally don't think so, those of you who already know me know that I am quiet concerning my feelings. I have never been one to share what is going on deep down inside me. But now that this is really getting ready to happen, it is time to hear from me. I have been quietly excited from the beginning, I have been pretty sure that the adoption was going to happen, I just didn't want to get too excited, too soon. I felt like if I let all of my excitement out early I would peak to soon and wouldn't have the energy to finish strong. Little did I know that when we started all of this it would take this long. I appreciate all of the support that many of you have shown throughout this process, without your support I know that we would have never even made it this far in the adoption process. I am constantly amazed by the generosity of our friends, family, and on occasion complete strangers who have helped us through the process. Now, as we expect her referral in the next few days it is the time to get too excited.I seem to have lost the ability to focus on anything. Focus has never been my strong suit anyhow, I am easily distracted by shiney objects. I don't sleep well, and I run to the phone every time it rings. I can not even begin to tell you how excited I am, I have waited a very long time for this day to come, and now that it is here I am not sure what to do, so I will revert to some of my old habits.

I will list for you some of the fragmented random thoughts I am having about the adoption.

I wonder what Zoe will look like. There is a rumor that they try to match the looks of the child with the looks of the adopting father. ( Scary)

With the time difference between here and China, when we come home, we could feasibly go back in time. (COOL)

I cannot wait to eat real Chinese food. (MMMMMM)
If the monetary conversion rate is 9 to 1, could I take $100,000 Convert it to $900,000 Chinese dollars and retire?

Just how much wood, could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? (sorry, FOCUS)

Here is a verse from the Toby Mac song Suddenly, it has helped me with the wait:

"Sometimes it's in an instant, Sometimes we wait for years, But it comes down to the moment when faith eclipses fear, Your wandering is over, The other side is real, You've broken through, Your mountain moved, And mercy is revealed, His mercy is revealed. Yeah."

It may not fit just right for our situation, but it has helped me.

Tim

Contractions

With Zoe coming soon I have been thinking a lot about contractions. Why don't (do not) we contract more words? This thought process all started with the contraction of will not or willn't. I've (I have) heard people use this one before and wasn't (was not) sure if it was a real contraction. When I checked it is not an official contraction (for now). Well I got to thinking, what other words can be contracted. Can words like jump it, play it, kill it, read it, basically any word followed by an it. be shortened to a contraction like jump't, play't, kill't, or read't. How about contracting multiple words, for example: your standard willn't (will not) contracted with the old fashioned do't (do it) for the new contraction of willn'td't. An example sentence would be:

"When asked if he would take out the garbage Tim replied : I willn'td't."

"When asked if he would take out the garbage Tim replied : I will not do it."

Just look how much shorter we have made the sentence.

For fun let's (let us) contract some new words just to make life a little easier.

Tim

10 Really Ramdom Thoughts

1. Just this past week I put a floor down in our kitchen, I learned a valuable lesson. Standing up and sitting down as well as bending over again and again, make a person really stiff and sore. In the end though I found the results really worth all of the stiffness.
2. I had a great Christmas, I enjoyed spending time with my friends and family. During church at Lily Sunday night I was reminded that we should think about the miracle of Christ's birth everyday and not just once a year.
3. I love beef jerky.
4. I recently went golfing at the Big Beaver Course, I do not really care for it or for winter golf. But, I played terrible and that may have affected my opinion.
5. Prayer works. Please continue to pray for me and pray for the adoption of Zoe. I am really starting to get excited and nervous.
6. Go, Buckeyes, congrats Troy.
7. Once you go off a diet, re-starting it is hard. Jan 1st is just a couple of days away. Farewell Mt. Dew, you will be missed.
8. New teeth on a baby are really, really sharp.
9. Hat candle wax, is hot. It is also fun to peel off when it dries.
10. and finally, while listening to XM radio: I learned, Todays gas stations are like mini-malls for the less fortunate... if, you are looking for a painting on velvet, or a black t-shirt with a coyote printed on it.

Tim

Hey, Back to movie trivia... who said this, and in what movie:

"Stay in school and use your brain. Be a doctor, be a lawyer, carry a leather briefcase. Forget about sports as a profession. Sports make ya grunt and smell. It is so easy to worry about your own needs without seeing what is hurting those around you, but according to the bible it is just the opposite of what we should be doing.

Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
1 Corinthians 10:24

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10

I ask each of you who have been praying for my job stress, to take some time and lift a brother who is struggling (he just seems really tired and down). He has a close family member who is in the hospital, and the prognosis is not good. I have to say that even in his time of trouble he has taken time for me, he has agreed to keep me in his prayers. Now I am asking you to remember him in your prayers, and if you only have the time to pray for one of us please pray for him.

Tim
(tomorrow I promise something light, something fun)

Great Music

I have attended two Christmas concerts this week. On Monday I attended a David Phelps concert, for those of you who don't know who David is: He is a contemporary christian singer along the lines of Stephen Curtis Chapman and Michael W Smith. Except David has a much better voice. David Sang wonderfully, the venue was beautiful, and the evening was a success. Jennifer is a member of the David Phelps Phan Message Boards, and we were able to meet a lot of the people that she chats with on the boards, almost on a daily basis. I have to say that these people are super, they are funny, friendly, and I felt like I have known them forever.

Tonight, We went to the Portsmouth Symphony orchestra's Christmas concert. I have to tell you that if you are from Portsmouth you need to go hear these people perform, they are superb. I love Christmas music and these concerts definitely got me in the mood for the season.

God, has been good to me. Anyone reading my past few messages knows I have been going through some trying times. I have to tell you that God has been working wonders in my life, even when bad things are happening God can use these troublesome times to draw you closer to him. Even in my time of sorrow God provided me with an escape from my troubles. Tonight's concert allowed me an opportunity to just enjoy some beautiful music that told the story of the birth of my Savior.

Tim

Lighten Up Already

I would like to offer a special thanks to everyone who has been praying for me. I can feel the Lord working in my life, giving me the strength that I need to get through the day. I know that people have been praying for me because I am seeing the effects in my life. So please continue with your prayers, they are what's keeping me going.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Ephesians 6: 18 -20

Now I also feel that I need to lighten the blog just a little, when I created this blog I wanted people to have a blog where they could find fun things to read and talk about. So I feel it is time for me to discuss Chips, not just any chips but to be specific Grippo's Bar-B-Q Potato Chips. I love Grippo's they are without a doubt the best chips in the world. So here is a little info and trivia about these tasty little snacks:

Grippo's Snack Foods have been a hometown favorite since 1919. Our snacks are fresher! They are made daily with no preservatives.

When Ken Griffy Jr. was playing for the Seattle Mariners, his agent sent a supply of Grippo's barbecue potato chips for the slugger's 28th birthday.

An Empty Grippo’s Bag, Stuck in Your Back Pocket, Brings Good Luck!

Lots of chips went to the Middle East during Desert Storm, and the company now is filling orders from troops in Afghanistan.

So try some Grippo's today a Cincinnati Hometown favorite.

Tim

1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
Psalm 40: 1-2

Let me state that I love being a librarian, I so enjoy what do. I never want to give the impression that I do not like being a librarian. We all go through struggles in life, and I happen to be going through one right now. At a David Phelps concert that we went to this past Monday, David told about the struggles that we will all experience in life and he reminded us: "this too shall pass". Unfortunately, Mr. Phelps reminded those of us in the middle of good times that: "this too shall pass" as well. This is what life involves, peaks and valleys. I must continually remind myself that although I am in a valley right now, I will climb out of this valley and walk the peaks once again. As I look back over my life I find that I have walked on the peaks a lot more than I have the valleys. I now understand why I am struggling so much through these hardships, I have spent very little time in valleys and have enjoyed the Lords blessing for most of my life. Although I believe I will never enjoy my time in the valley I do understand the purpose, and I know that as the verse at the top of the post states: "he will set my feet on rock and he will give me a firm place to stand". Please continue to pray for me, and please check out the new video I posted from YouTube.

Tim

Lessons Learned

Today I learned a valuable lesson, in my last post I stated that I was having some struggles at work. I am continuing to have those struggles, some of them I have created for myself and others are circumstances beyond my control. Today I chose to spend my lunch break in prayer and reading scripture, while studying I found some scripture that gave me comfort:

4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." 7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12 4 - 11

When I read this scripture it made me realized that I had not been studying the bible or praying in the manner that I should. Was I slipping away from my God? I now realize that by allowing these struggles to happen to me God was turning me back to him. As we go through life's struggles we will often look toward our heavenly father for comfort and relief. I want to thank God for his wisdom and for his discipline. I ask you to please pray for me helping me to work through these struggles and for God to continue to strengthen me in my walk with the Lord.

Tim

Bad Day & More to Come

Today I had a terrible day and work and tomorrow promises to be even worse. I am having some struggles at work and I would like to request that everyone please pray for me as I work through theses struggles.
When I got home tonight I was really down on myself and I was upset at my work situation. I was tired and felt depressed about what was happening. I knew that I needed to pray and read the bible, I knew that if I was going to find relief it would be through God. When I opened the bible, in the front cover, I found the relief from an old friend that has been gone from my life for a long time.

On Christmas Eve 1994 a dear friend of mine was killed when his vehicle was hit by a drunk driver. David was my preacher and the man who I credit with leading me to Jesus.

My friend David had given me the bible at church camp in 1991. David had also written some scriptures in the front and in these scriptures I was able to find my much needed relief, from a friend who had given me so much guidance in the past.

6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

Pslam 118 6 & 8

I thank God for friends like David who even after they have gone from our lives, they can still guide and comfort us. I thank God even more that he has provided for us his word where we can seek refuge in our times of struggle. It is amazing to me how God will show you things at just the right time, I must have looked over those scriptures David had written a thousand times and they had not affected me, until today, when I needed them.
Thank you David but more importantly Thank You God.

Tim

Now Showing!!!!

Hey Everybody,

I added a new movie section to my blog.

HE CAN SING!!!!
HIS MOVES ARE SICK!!!!
AND HE IS THE BEST LOOKING PUPPET IN THE BUSINESS TODAY!!!

Check out SKIPPY in these great clips! I can just picture the writers brainstorming for the script: "Hey what do you say we break up Will and Liz, make almost all of the characters un-likeable, destroy the Black Pearl and bring Barbossa back from the dead." "Great idea and while were at it lets make the movie un-bearably long." Sure some of the effects are cool but a story along with them would have been great. I also felt Jack Sparrow was also a little over the top this time around. Tone down the weirdness just a little-bit, and why make him such a coward? Finally the ending arrives and I realize for the last two and a half hours I have been watching a teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I say save your money, stay home, and re-watch the first Pirates movie it's a lot better.

Tim

The Brain: We're going to a place where the sun never sets, the size of your wallet matters, and actors and actresses slave all day.
Pinky: We're going to Denny's?

Reading

As a librarian I feel it is my responsibility to promote reading from time to time. I love to read, my favorite reading material is Fantasy (not Science Fiction) Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Robert Jordan I enjoy them all. Now Fantasy is not the only reading material I enjoy, I love Louis L'Amore books and I just finished reading a couple of the Laura Ingalles Wilder books. Concerning Non-Fiction, I love humor (but not joke type books) like Bill Bryson's travel books as well as some more serious non-fiction including Tuesdays With Morrie or anything History by David McCullough or Allan Eckert. Of course the book that I recommend reading the most of all is the Bible.

I will read pretty much anything within reason, what do you read?

Tim

The Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Pinky: Well, I think so Brain, but isn't Regis Philbin already married?

Take the Quiz

Hey, we enjoy discussing superheroes so much on this blog that I found a "what superhero are you quiz" online. I posted it on the side of the blog with my results. Take the quiz and let us all know your results in the comment field. I am a real meat and potatoes kind of guy. I always claim that real food is my down fall, You could put a big dish of candy in front of me and I may eat a piece or two, but it would not be a great temptation. But, if you put a platter with a porkroast and some mashed potatoes and gravy in front of me I would eat until I am uncomfortably full. I was just wondering what everybody's favorite restaurant is? Mine is "Romano's Macaroni Grill" I love the bread with the olive oil and cracked pepper and I always get the Chicken Marsala. Mmmmm. If we are talking fast food nothing beats Chick-Filet but since we do not have one local I will settle a Wendy's Single combo meal, as long as the fries are fresh and not those weak limp day old fries.

Tim

I recently found these great quotes from Pinky and the Brain, I plan to sign off using these for a while, enjoy:

The Brain: Hurry up, Pinky, If we don't get to Carley Simon's house I'll never know if that song was about me.

Cheese

Cheese is a solid food made from the curdled milk of cows, goats, sheep, buffalo or other mammals. I made a trip to Boston during my vacation from the blog world, and I had a great trip. I was able to visit and tour Fenway. I made a trip to Cheers, and I ate way too much food. During the trip I had my first experience flying, I loved it, I look forward to my next flight. During the trip I also attended a few library related conferences, since that is why I was in Boston in the first place. I learned that I never want to drive in the city of Boston. I also learned that there is no need to drive in Boston, the city is a walking town. Mountain Dew was born way back in the hills of Tennessee in the 1940s. The name Mountain Dew was first trademarked by two brothers, Barney and Ally Hartman, who ran a bottling plant in Knoxville. The Hartman's Mountain Dew, however, was a lemon-lime drink used as a mixer with whiskey. Dew's appeal went national when Pepsi-Cola bought the franchise in 1964, minus the wiskey.
I love the Dew. There is nothing like the taste of ice cold Mountain Dew on a hot day, I prefer it straight out of the bottle. mmmmm...
Now, how about you make the call. Aaron and I got into a rather juvenile disagreement upon a regular basis. We would argue over which one of us was the real batman. For those of you who do not know Aaron or me, at the time this movie came out we were both in high school. I know, I know, you probably thought that we were grade schoolers playing at recess during these arguments. No, we were in high school and both obviously immature for our age. I bring up this story for a couple of reasons. First, as the young adult librarian discussing superheros is an important part of my job, and I want to bring my Batman vs. Superman argument before a larger audience than my teens at the library. I belief that batman is the cooler superhero when compared to Superman, but I also believe that Superman would kick Batman's butt in a fight. I still would personally, pick Batman as my favorite superhero. Batman is just a regular guy using his wits and an inexhaustible sum of money to fight crime, he is not an alien from another planet, he hasn't been bitten by a radioactive spider, and he doesn't have an invisible jet and magic lasso (by the way, how stupid are those superpowers invisible jet and magic lasso). Now, I ask you to select your favorite Superhero and give us a movie quote if you know one. Mine as I said before is Batman.

"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy and I can't do that as Bruce Wayne, as a man I'm flesh and blood I can be ignored I can be destroyed but as a symbol, as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting."

Tim (The Real Batman) Gampp

Q-Tips?

What to say? I have been suffering from a bad case of blogger's block. I really want to say something profound or witty, one of those comments or stories that everyone loves. I have always heard that it is the small things in life that bring you pleasure, and Q-Tips are small. That being said, I would like to know what is it that you enjoy that seems unusual or strange, what do you like? The speaking was some of the very best I have ever experienced at Winterfest. During one part of the speaking, Jeff Walling talked about those who have walked by faith and paid the ultimate sacrifice for their beliefs. I found this part of Winterfest very moving and spiritually uplifting. Michael Tait performed in concert. I have to say that this was my least favorite concert that I have ever attended. On a side note, I was not feeling well during the concert and this may have affected my judgment, I usually enjoy Tait's music. I managed to eat large amounts of food while there. This included bar-b-q three out of the four meals. The fourth meal happened to be at Chick Fillet, Mmmmm. Just a couple of thing left to mention. First, check out the web site for "Lost and Found" these guys were very funny: http://www.speedwood.com/. Finally I enjoyed the time I spent with good friends, that includes my "Little Scottkins".

"On this very night, ten years ago, along this very stretch of road in a dense fog just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building... And when they pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning wreck. Most of you have noticed that I almost always sign my name in a different manner. Many of you have discovered that these are often references to early 80s -90s comedies. This has become a sort of game where readers and I comment back and forth with dialog from these particular movies. So, if you catch the movie reference jump in with your favorite dialog, for an example see the comments from the Stressed Out post on January 18th 2006.

Bloggings own version of "Reverend Cleophus James" signing out.

Losing It

Sorry, I know I'm late with my post for the weight loss, I've been busy. I would also like to mention that this will be an opportunity for all of you to catch a glimpse of my shapely legs because I will be wearing knickers at the event.
Tim (crazylegs) Gampp

Blogging Rights

I'm back, so you can stop begging for more posts. Life has been a little nuts lately, I have recently gotten a little more responsibility at work, it is a great opportunity but it adds a little stress to my life. School started again and with school came additional work. And, Jennifer's computer died so she took mine, now I hardly have any time on the computer. One or two of these circumstances and this awesome blog would not have suffered one little bit, but when all of these hit at once I got a little behind on my blogging duties. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the atmosphere, and I love Christmas lights. Every year I spend a considerable amount of time just driving around at night looking at lights. The holiday specials on TV still excite me. I look forward to watching these every year (my favorites are It's A Wonderful Life and A Muppet Christmas Carol).

"Merry Christmas, You Wonderful Old Building and Loan"

Most of all I enjoy the time spent with friends and family. Finally, I look forward to waking up at 5:00 a.m. Christmas morning. I thought that I could update everyone on how the trip went and what we saw:

First we started and finished our Christmas shopping, while shopping we went to places with names like "Great Stuff By Paul", and "Ollies". At the outlet malls we saw a cow wearing lingerie and at Pauls we saw hundreds of things from China like Chopstick Holders and lifesize statues of Buddha. We ate at Chick-Filet 4 times (only because Jennifer wouldn't let me eat there more). I had my first experience at a Japanese Steak House where while trying to catch shrimp in my mouth I managed to knock one piece into my Grandma's Hair, with the next attempt coming to rest in Jennifer's lap. The Highlight of the trip though occurred while we walked through the streets of Williamsburg at night, in the freezing cold, while carolers sang Christmas songs. It was very romantic and and very beautiful. We had such a great time we are now planning our next trip to Williamsburg for 2007, 2007 is the 400th anniversary of nearby Jamestown and it is supposed to by a year-long celebration.

Posting Again

After such great responses to my initial post, I felt the need to post again, so here goes:

After struggling emotionally to get through my lesson on during the Thanksgiving service I thought that I would post my lesson notes for those wishing to know exactly what I intended to say:

This past Wednesday night Steve approached me and asked if I would be willing to speak at the Thanksgiving service this Sunday. My first inclination was to say no and run the opposite direction, I agreed to do it though. I spent the last few days thinking more about what I was thankful for than I have any other Thanksgiving in my life. I realized that God has blessed me beyond measure throughout my life. So rather than bore you with my life story, I have managed to narrow it down to the top three things I have been thankful for this year and a brief list of things I have been thankful for over my lifetime.
The first and probably one of the most life changing events in my life is the adoption of Zoe.
China is a country whose culture dates back to the earliest records known to man. China's beliefs seem quite different than those we hold in the western world. One example of this is the cultural preference for a male child. There are several reasons why Chinese families might prefer a boy over a girl. In rural provinces, a family's livelihood depends directly on the output of its family members. Because of this, a family with sons would be at a considerable advantage than one with daughters. Historically, it is also the son's honored responsibility to take care of his parents in their old age. A daughter, however, would be expected to care for her husband's parents rather than her own. In this regard, the Chinese believe that having a son is crucial to their livelihood, as well as a form of social security for the parents when they grow older. Although in recent years, China has done much to change these belief systems, many families, especially in rural areas, still strongly favor the birth of a male child. This situation is further complicated by China's One- Child Policy, which prohibits families from having more than one child. As a result of this policy, there are thousands of abandoned children throughout China, with the vast majority of them being healthy girls. Every year, some 21 million children are born. Half or more of these children are girls, and the birth of a girl has never been a cause for celebration in China.
Last year, Jennifer and I made the decision to adopt a little girl from China. This was not an easy decision, by doing this we were to forced to accept that we probably would never have any children through natural methods, we had to grieve for our child that we would never have. We also were forced into the realization that adoption is very expensive and we didn't have the money we needed to adopt a child from China. We were sure that this is the direction God was leading us so we prayed, and God continued to lead us toward adoption. Over the last year God has blessed us, we have been given patients, for every one step forward there seems to have been two steps back, yet God has continued to move us forward through the process. We keep telling ourselves that this is all in Gods time not our own. We will get her when God wants us to have her, when He feels we are ready for her. God has provided the money that we have needed for the adoption, through contributions by friends and family that included many people in the church. I have seen people give generously in ways I know that they could not afford. I know that God will bless those of you that have helped and I want all of you to know that I thank you and appreciate all that you have done and given. I am confident that God will provide the remaining amount of money that we need for the adoption in whatever manner he sees fit. I believe that he has already started helping us obtain those funds by providing me with a second job as well as giving Jennifer other job opportunities. I am thankful for all that God has done through this adoption process, my faith continues to grow by leaps and bounds as I continue to rely on God for things that I know I could never do on my own.

The second thing that I am thankful for, this year, involved the death of my Grandfather. Grandpa was with out a doubt the most spiritually influential person in my life. Without preaching and without saying a word, he taught me how to live; by the way he lived his life. On the day he died the family got to witness Grandpa meeting his savior. Grandpa had spent the last hours of his life unresponsive, he was comfortable and surrounded by his family but he was dying. Early in the morning on August 26, 2005 Grandpa opened his eyes, looked at grandma as if to say goodbye, he then looked at the foot of the bed and smiled the biggest and brightest smile ever, and as the things of earth grew strangely dim, Grandpa went to the arms of Jesus. I am thankful that my Grandfather, who loved and followed Jesus his whole life, finally got to meet him!

The third thing I am thankful for this year, was something most of you were a witness to. It was when my brother-in-law was baptized. It was an amazing site to see! I saw this church celebrate a baptism with joy, enthusiasm and excitement. I was able to really witness what it must be like in heaven when a soul is saved. I am thankful for Daves soul being saved and at the same time I am thankful for the way it made me feel. All too often a baptism is not celebrated, as it should be; at Daves baptism I felt joy that I hope to feel every time a soul is saved.

Now for a brief list of other things I am thankful for:

I am thankful for my wife and family, all of my friends, my job, and my home. I am thankful for the smell in the air right before it snows; I love the sound of frogs on the first warm evening in the spring. I am thankful for the look in the eyes of a child on Christmas morning, I am thankful for the look in the eyes of an adult on Christmas morning. I enjoy the sound of rain on a tin roof; I love the way the fall leaves scatter on the road when I drive over them.
